Lab Assistant ( 1 Year )
The Lab Assistant program is a one-year course that prepares students to support laboratory
operations efficiently and safely. Students are trained in sample collection, basic testing
procedures, equipment sterilization, and report preparation. Upon completion, graduates can assist pathologists, microbiologists, and laboratory technologists in hospitals, clinics, and research labs, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards.

Course Highlights
Introduction to Laboratory Practices
Students learn the fundamental roles and responsibilities of a lab assistant, including lab organization, sample handling, and general safety measures.
Basic Sample Collection and Preparation
This module covers the techniques for collecting blood, urine, sputum, and other samples safely and hygienically, as well as preparing them for analysis.
Sterilization and Disinfection Procedures
Students are trained in maintaining sterile environments, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment, workspaces, and ensuring contamination-free testing zones.
Basic Hematology and Biochemistry Assistance
Students assist in simple hematology (blood tests) and biochemistry (glucose, cholesterol tests) processes under the supervision of senior lab personnel.
Equipment Usage and Care
Students gain hands-on experience in using basic laboratory instruments like microscopes, centrifuges, and autoclaves, including routine maintenance.
Documentation and Report Assistance
This module trains students in accurately recording laboratory results, maintaining patient data confidentiality, and assisting in preparing basic reports.
